Why Can Even Dreams From God Be So Confusing?

Why Can Even Dreams From God Be So Confusing?

Dear Reader, are you confused by your Dreams? Not to worry! Almost everyone was, except for Moses.

“Hear now My words!” He said. “When there is a prophet of Adonai, I reveal Myself in a vision, I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses. In all My house, he is faithful. I speak with him face to face, plainly and not in riddles. He even looks at the form of Adonai! Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?”

The Numbering Chapter 12 Verse 6

Tree Of Life Version

A Dream is often called a "Night Parable". It is simply a symbolic language that is spoken between the Supernatural World and the Natural World while a human being is sleeping. Jesus (Rabbi Yeshua) spoke to the crowds of His day in this language while they were awake, and He spoke to kings and rulers such as Pharoah and Nebuchadnezzar while they slept (Proverbs 13).

In both day and night parables, the meaning was only understood with the help of the Holy Spirit.

So we see that one reason is God hiding the matter for a Kingdom of Priests in His Royal Services to search it out (Proverbs Chapter 25). He wanted the meaning to only be understood by His People.

He could also want to spend quality time with the Dreamer while they search the meaning. This would be much like a grandfather putting a puzzle together with a grandchild on a Saturday afternoon. Since around 1/3 of our lives are experienced asleep there are decades in which The Creator can begin a conversation with us. One that our intellect with it's questions and our emotions with their demands, will not interfere with focusing on the message. We are simply left with the start of a message when we wake that we must spend our waking time pursuing. The Creator is of course the only one with the missing pieces and it is Him we must seek for Answers.

Another reason is that the dream is not meant to be fully understood until 'an appointed time" (just as the Prophet Daniel and John the Revelator experienced in the dreams they had and interpreted).

At other times, our Spirit has understanding of a Dream and will recognize the meaning "at the appointed time". But the dream will remain a mystery to the Soul (mind, will and emotions).

So what can or should we do moving forward? I would recommend humbly accepting that we won't know or understand everything. The Apostle Paul wrote about the limitations of personal revelation in the Epistles to the Church in Corinth. It was a great reminder that we need to focus on Fruit instead of Future-Telling.

"For we know in part
and we prophesy in part;
but when that which is perfect has come,
then that which is partial will pass away.

 When I was a child,

    I spoke like a child,
    I thought like a child,
    I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man,
    I put away childish things.

For now we see in a mirror dimly,
    but then face to face.
Now I know in part,
but then I will know fully,
even as I have been fully known.

But now these three remain—
    faith, hope, and love.
And the greatest of these is love."
